I'm generally a nice guy, and because of that, I have often been taken advantage of.
Recently, I created an e-mail account here on sinistermoose.com for someone who I thought was a friend. I generally don't ask too many questions of people who are friends, because I generally suspect that if they're a friend, they're okay and aren't going to do something that will cause me any problems.
Unfortunately, this did not turn out to be the case recently, as I had to remove an e-mail account, and essentially remove someone I thought was a friend from my life, and from my servers.
This person was banned from a website for posting objectionable material after having used the e-mail address, I gave them, to create an account on a community website.
The net result was that because I own the domain, and own the servers where the e-mail was hosted, I have been implicated in this situation of posting this objectionable material.
I'm hoping that nothing will result from this, as I have removed the e-mail address, and will no longer allow this person to access my servers, but the damage has already been done.
I have contacted the owners of the website in question, and apologized for the issue, however I am not certain it will prevent further ramifications in this situation.
I suppose this is simply a cautionary tale. Just be careful who you trust, and who you consider a friend, because you never know what kind of freak lurks beneath the surface.
